Working at Heights
Course Description

This program gives a sound understanding of the workplace health and safety issues faced when working at heights. Participants will also gain a good understanding of legislative requirements including the regulations for prevention of falls. The course covers the use of ladders and other equipment used in working at heights.

This course covers the following:
- Fundamentals of basic height safety
- Carry out legal requirements
- Identify and control risk
- Identify, select and maintain height safety equipment
- Effective use of height safety equipment
- Fundamentals of ladder use and safety
- How to fit and wear a height safety harness
- How to assemble a basic fall restraint system
- How to identify and select safe anchor points
- Identify work area requirements
- Knowledge of emergency procedures
Assessment of competency is by a written test and participation in the class activities. There will also be a number of assignment activities that trainees is required to undertake on the day of the training and assessment.

All trainees must hold a Construction Induction Training card (previously called Red Card),
