Course Description

Course Aim

To provide the skill and knowledge necessary to gain the Open Registration Competency.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course each delegate will be able to: 

• Terminate Cable.
• Install cabling from socket to socket for a customer commercial premises.
• Detail the ACA cabling license requirements (Open).
• Describe the mandatory ACA technical standards (Open).
• Be able to describe the composition of a Telephone Cabling System.
• Be able to install a system including all facility cabling and backbone cabling.
• Understand the features and facilities offered by Small Business Telephone Systems.
• Recognise the requirement of a Telecommunications Reference Conductor and understand the correct methods of equipotential bonding according to the ACA Technical Standards (Open).
• Recognise and be able to update cabling records correctly.
• Be competent in testing Telephone Cabling Systems prior to hand over to the client.
